Joe Elbert Donahew, 93, passed away Wednesday in a Fort Worth Hospital.
Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gospel Gathering Fellowship. Interment to follow in Ash Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at White's Funeral Home in Azle.
Joe was born in Italy, Texas to Richard Donahew and Servilla Brannan, on November 24, 1922.
Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a great gardener. He was a member of the Gospel Gathering Fellowship and loved his church family, listening to country music, as well as dancing, and above all other was a family man. He served in the Army in the Pacific during WWII and the Occupation of Japan.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 56years, Ruby Donahew; sisters, Faye Hamilton, Tennie Donahew, Minnie Sanders, and Juanita Fox; Grandsons, Richard Donahew Jr. and Jason Scott Donahew.
Survivors: Daughter, Janie Burgett and husband, Ray; sons, Richard Donahew, Elbert Donahew, Bo Donahew and wife, Jan, Mike Donahew; brother, Lenear Donahew; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren; several nephews, nieces and cousins; and a host of loving family members.
