Martha "Marti" Ford

MINERAL WELLS -- Martha "Marti" Ford, 75, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016. Funeral service: 1 p.m. Monday at New River Fellowship Church, 1202 SE 6th Ave, Mineral Wells, 76067. Interment: Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at White's Funeral Home, 101 N.E. 4th Ave., Mineral Wells, 76067. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to New River Fellowship Church, 1806 Martin Dr. Weatherford, 76087. Marti was born September 17, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio to Charlie and Gracie Human. She was one of 15 children from a large family. She later met the love of her life, Don Ford. Marti and Don were married February 19, 1960 in Victorville, California and shortly after moved to Mineral Wells. Marti was a cook at Lakewell House and retired after 15 years of service. In her spare time, Marti loved to shop, whether it be at department stores or garage sales. But her main passions in life were her family and God. She loved her family with all of her heart and was a devoted Christian. Marti was a one of a kind woman who touched many lives. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Marti was preceded in death by her parents; several siblings; and grandson, Bobby Don Wilson. Survivors: husband of 56 years, Don Ford; children, Freeda Wilcher and husband, Jim, and Artie Ford and wife, Dana; grandchildren, Cody (Christy) Lee, Wesley (Amanda) Ford, Dakota Wilcher, Taylor Ford; great-grandchildren, Adam, Hayden, Ashlynn, and Garrett; brother, Jimmy; sisters, Joyce, Lois, Darlene, Dorthy, Shirley, and Freeda; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
