Avonne "Nonnie" Jeanette Martin Scott

Avonne "Nonnie" Jeanette Martin Scott passed away March 8, 2016 at the age of 82 after a long challenge with Dementia in Azle,Texas. Graveside memorial service Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 11:00 am for family and friends at Springtown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to American Cancer Society. Nonnie was born on Sunday, November 5,1933 in Los Angeles, California. She was the daughter of Grayburn Martin (1906-1988) and Ermine (Carlisle) Hoeck (1913-1982). She married Herman "Allen" Scott, Jr.(1928-2014) on June 22, 1951 in California. They were inseparable for 63 years. They are now reunited in Gods arms. The mother of 5 children, Greg, Liz, Susan and twins, Laurie(1960-2004) and Linda.The Grandmother to10 and Great-grandmother to15. Nonnie and her family moved to outside of Azle, Texas in summer of 1969 from Ontario, California. She was a homemaker first and foremost, later she began working at Motts 5&10 making custom clothes for people. She also worked for many years at J.C. Penney's in Weatherford, Texas. It was her dream job, helping people design and sew clothing and decorate their homes. She was a true craftsman when it came to materials and colors. She made many many small quilts for AIDS babies and comforters for family. She also crocheted and knitted along with her musical talent to play the piano and the organ. She is survived by 4 Children, 10 Grandchildren, 15 Great-grandchildren. Step-Mother Florine Martin, 2 brothers, Jon and wife Joann Lamblett, Tom and wife Fran Martin and many nieces and nephews that still reside in California. Brother-in-law John Scott and his wife Jerry in Pearce, Arizona.
