WEATHERFORD -- Bill Barrow, 79, died Thursday, March 24, 2016.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1802 Bethel Road, Weatherford, 76086.
Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley, Weatherford.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at White's Funeral Home with Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
The middle of 10 children, Bill was born April 20, 1936 in Newmarket, County Cork, Ireland to David and Ellen Barrow. After college and seminary, he was a missionary in Papua New Guinea for 17 years. He loved learning new languages and was fluent in several. He also loved people and had many family and friends worldwide. He lit up a room with his sense of humor and filled the room by telling stories in his bold voice and Irish accent. He wore his Irish proud by reading and sharing his book collection along with his Irish collectables.
Bill and Janice's 25-year love story began when they met; then married and lived in Round Rock. Later they settled in Weatherford. They enjoyed traveling, especially in their R.V., and loved to garden together.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Richard Barrow; and sisters, Mary Walsh, Jane Murphy, and Nellie O'Connor.
Survivors: wife, Janice Barrow; step-daughter, Cynthia (Christopher) Gartman; grandchildren, Zach and Alex; brothers, David and Denis Barrow; sisters, Kate Fitzgerald and Sheila Barrow; "favorite" sisters-in-law, Linda, Sue, and Deb; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
