FORT WORTH -- Doyle "Uncle DD" Gilbert, 88, a faithful Methodist, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 6, 2016.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Brock United Methodist Church, 127 Lazy Bend Road, Brock, 76087.
Interment: Brock Cemetery.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, 76086.

Doyle was born Sept. 7, 1927, in Fort Worth to Olen Gilbert and Valeria Dent Gilbert. After graduating from Arlington Heights High School, he then attended Texas Christian University. He was drafted and served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He retired as a salesman from Charlie Hillard Ford. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; brother, J.D. Gilbert; and dear friend, Eddie Kelly.
Survivors: Sister-in-law, JuanEtta Gilbert; loving nieces, Jenny Evans, Paula (Rick) Watson, Valarie Gilbert and Gloria Barron; great-niece, Brittany Barron; great-nephews, Brandon (Cindi) Evans, Jamison (Jennifer) Evans, Luke Watson, Blake Barron, Matthew Barron and John-Michael Barron; great great-nieces and nephew, Shaye Evans, Miley Evans, Remi-Grace Evans, and Kason Evans; and extended family members and friends.
