WEATHERFORD -- Marguerite Deen Lasley, affectionately known to her friends and family as Bebe, left this earth to be with the Lord on April 18, 2016.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.
Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley, Weatherford.
Marguerite was born February 26, 1925 in Appling County, Georgia. She was the second oldest child of nine siblings born to her parents, George Lee and Faithie Bell Deen. Marguerite grew up on her family's farm, graduated from Baxley High School in 1942, took business classes in Brunswick, Georgia and accepted her first job in Savannah, Georgia in 1943. There, she met and married Kenneth Coy Lasley, and shortly thereafter, they moved to San Antonio, where she lived the majority of her life.
Marguerite was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was extremely active in the PTA where she was awarded a life membership for her service. Marguerite was also extremely active in St. Marks Methodist Church where she served on multiple committees and won multiple service awards. Later in life, she held the positions of Church Secretary, Administrative Assistant at Gulf Oil Corp, several positions with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, attaining the District Director over 130 Texas counties and the position of Program Development Specialist for the Arthritis Foundation. After her retirement, she held several positions including Tour Guide and realtor.
Marguerite was Secretary of the Board of Trustees at St John's United Methodist Church, President of the Pilot Club, and an officer of the American Business Women's Association. She was honored as San Antonio Citizen of the Day, she was awarded Woman of the Year by the American Business Women's Association, and was a Life Member of the United Methodist Church Women.
Marguerite was a Christian. She loved people, was tireless in serving others, she loved children, flowers, butterflies, her family and Texas. Throughout her health issues, she remained gracious, grateful and happy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth and by her eight siblings (Martin, Melba, Ralph, Nell, Mickey, Jerry, Bobby, and Bill).
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann and husband, Ken Pulley; by her son, Michael Deen and wife, Rhonda Lasley; along with four grandsons, Steve Pulley and wife, Jenni, Matt Pulley and wife, Elizabeth, Toby Lasley and wife, Paige, and Justin Lasley and wife, Nikki; and 10 fabulous great-grandchildren.
