GRANBURY -- Maria Olveda Calderon, 92, went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 2, 2016, at home, surrounded by her children.
Funeral Service: 12 Noon Friday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.
Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley, Weatherford.
Visitation: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Maria was born on July 2, 1923 in Kyle, the third child of 12 siblings born to Gaspar and Epimenia Olveda. She married Claudio Calderon in 1939.
Maria was a loving, devoted wife, mother and friend, always ready to help others in need. She was a hard working woman, whether she was working in the cotton fields, factories, babysitting or ironing for clients at home.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband, her daughters, Beatrice and Estella Calderon, and sons, Roy and Ray Calderon.
Survivors: Siblings, Petra Lucio, Patricia Lopez and Bencio Olveda; daughters, Margaret Morgan and husband, Peter, of Weatherford, Carolina von Sayn-Wittgenstein of Germany, and Josie Thurmon and husband, Richard, of Weatherford; sons, Alex Calderon and wife, Carolyn, and Richard Calderon and wife, Hope; special devoted friends, Manjit and Teresa Singh; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 18 great great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
