Douglas "Doug" Robert Benscoter

FORT WORTH -- Douglas Robert "Doug" Benscoter, 30, beloved son, brother, uncle, fiance and friend, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1802 Bethel Road, Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations may be made in Doug's memory to Wounded Warriors or St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Doug was born June 20, 1985 in Corry, Pennsylvania, son of Dan Taylor and Margaret Lorraine Henry Benscoter. He was a graduate of Southwest Christian High School in 2004, University of North Texas in 2008, and received a Master's in Religious Studies from the University of Dallas in 2010. He was near completion of his Master's of Philosophy Degree from Holy Apostle's College. Doug was a gifted musician and was a member of the band "11 Dollars". He enjoyed writing and was the author of the philosophy blog, Fides et Ratio. Doug was an avid sports fan and loved the Beatles and the Beach Boys. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church in Keller. Doug loved the Lord and his desire was to know and understand Him. He touched a great many lives and will be missed by all who knew him.
