Weatherford -- Arthur Williamson, Jr., 94, beloved father, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, with his family by his side in an Eastland care facility.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Friday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.
Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford.
Visitation: 12 Noon until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations may be made in Arthur's memory to First Baptist Church of Weatherford, Youth Department.
Arthur was born October 31, 1921 in Pulaski, Tenn., son of Arthur, Sr. and Nancy Bevins Williamson. Arthur met and married Ethel Gathings on June 22, 1946 and they made their home together in the Poly neighborhood of Fort Worth. They enjoyed almost 65 happy years of marriage until Ethel passed away on May 18, 2011. They moved their family to Weatherford in 1968 and became faithful members of First Baptist Church in Weatherford. Arthur was a hard working man and a great provider for his family. He worked for Lockheed Martin until his retirement after 40 years of service. Arthur enjoyed hunting, fishing and both flower and vegetable gardening. His deepest love was his family and he will be missed by all who knew him.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Ethel; an infant son; daughter, Linda Barnstein; sons-in-law, Rex Barnstein and Ronnie Carter; two brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors: Son, Malcolm Williamson and wife, Pat, of Carbon; daughter, Elaine Carter of Weatherford; grandchildren, Lisa Fuller and husband, Steve, of North Richland Hills, Brian Barnstein and wife, Amy, of Hurst, Lesley Belle and husband, James, of Austin, Rebecca Perales and husband, Michael, of Weatherford and Austin Carter and wife, Jennifer, of Weatherford; nine great-grandchildren; several nephews, nieces and cousins; and many loving family members and friends.
