Monte L. Ratchford

WEATHERFORD -- Monte L. Ratchford, 81, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, June 29, 2016. Service: 4 p.m. Saturday at North Main Church of God, 803 N Main St., Weatherford, 76086, with visitation beginning at 3 p.m. at the church. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford. Monte was born June 5, 1935, in Gorman to William and Lottie Gray. She married the love of her life, W.C. Ratchford, on July 20, 1952, in Ranger. Along with being a homemaker, she was faithful and fruitful with her companion in the ministry of pastor, church leader, and missionary/evangelist. Her last 20 years, she effectively helped in the planting of new churches, training leadership, establishing water wells and feeding programs in missionary efforts worldwide. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Monte was preceded in death by her son, David Arthur Ratchford, and her parents. Survivors: Husband of 63 years, W.C. Ratchford Sr.; son, William "Bill" Ratchford Jr. and wife, Kathryn, of Deer Park; daughter-in-law, Robin Dill of Ashland, Va.; grandchildren, Lesley Keyes, Amanda Young, Monte Ratchford, Emily Ratchford, Will Ratchford III, Benjamin Ratchford, Jayla Johnston, Anna Graham and Charis Ratchford; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Margie Hicks; many nieces, nephews and other family members; and a host of friends.
