HB Peebles, 77, of Boyd, departed this life on Thursday, August 18, 2016, in Boyd, surrounded by those who loved him.
Visitation will be at the home of Dale and Sindy Peebles, 1074 CR 4781, Boyd, 76023, on Sunday, August 21, 2016, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Graveside services will be Monday, August 22, 2016, at 10:00 am, at the Peebles Family Cemetery, near their home. Juanita Ransom Bullard will officiate. Pallbearers are Alan Fullbright, Russell Peebles, Trent Fullbright, Cody Turner, Jeff Auvenshine and Adam Sumii. Honorary Pallbearers are Jack Peebles, Carey Peebles, Bubba Peebles, Randy Elledge, Bob Wood, Vern Fry, Don Stinnett, Don Taylor, Greg Ivy, Doug Scroggins, Jerry Shawn, and Sandy “Bud” Shawn.
HB was born January 24, 1939, in Warsaw, MO, to Marvin and Bernice (Brazeal) Peebles. In earlier years he owned Auto Bumper Company and HB Peebles Dozer Service. Later he was a farmer, as well as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed riding horses, working cows, driving his tractor, and doing gun repair. He especially loved time with family and friends, and his grandchildren & great-grandchildren were the light of his life. His word was his honor, he was a dedicated worker, and he never passed up an opportunity to help someone in need, including complete strangers.
He married Lucretia Ann Smith, on June, 6, 1958, in Fort Worth, TX. They had three children, Don, Dedra and Dale.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; brother Danny Peebles; two grandsons, Kenneth Dale Peebles and Garrett Cole Peebles; and great-granddaughter, Baylee Rae Auvenshine.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Lucretia; son, Don Peebles, and wife, Shirley; daughter, Dedra Fullbright, and husband, Tooter; son, Dale Peebles and wife, Sindy, all of Boyd; brother, Jack Peebles and wife, Sherrie, of Granbury; sister, Jeannine Elledge and husband, Royce, of Boyd; 6 grandchildren - Alan Fullbright, and wife, Amanda; Angie Turner, and husband, Cody; Russell Peebles, and wife, Katherine; Trent Fullbright, and wife, Kathy; Jennifer Auvenshine, and husband, Jeff; Whitney Sumii, and husband, Adam; and 9 great-grandchildren, with the 10th great-grandchild due in September. HB is also survived by a very large extended family, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as a host of friends.
