Elmer (Duke) Matthew Allen

Elmer Allen, 84, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016. Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, St. Stephens Catholic Church. Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley. Rosary: 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Stephens Chapel, 211 South Main. Elmer was born September 2, 1931 in Edmond, Oklahoma to Arthur Lowe Allen and Mary Ellen McAuliff. Elmer served in the Navy and was a buyer for Bell Helicopter for 20 years. Elmer loved fishing, sailing, and wood working. Elmer along with his sons built his home. Elmer also enjoyed working on Church projects, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Order Franciscan. He was a member of the St. Stephens Catholic Church. Preceded in death by his parents, one sister, six brothers, and son-in-law, Jim Aldridge. Survivors: Wife, Ann Allen; daughter, Therese Aldridge; sons, Daniel Allen and wife, Michelle, Lee Allen and wife, Rita, and Andy Allen and wife, Paula; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
