Derald Coomer, 78, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 in Azle. Services: 11am Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at White's Funeral Chapel in Azle. Interment: Ash Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8pm Monday at the funeral home. Derald was born July 30, 1938 in Azle to the late George and Leona Coomer. He was an avid farmer where he enjoyed utilizing his John Deere tractors. Derald loved to go RVing especially to Brownwood. He was also an avid sports fan. Derald served as a United State Air Force Captain during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked in the dairy business for 30 years and upon retirement became a self-employed farmer. Derald was a member of the Ash Creek Baptist Church and a 50 year member of the Masons. Derald was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Wife, Naydine Coomer; Son, Derald Coomer II and wife, Nadine; daughters, Cheryl Sherrill and husband, Ted, and Christi Joyce Bowmer and husband, Jay; sisters, Sylvia Driskill, Delena Doyle and husband, Craig; grandchildren, Adam, Benjamin, Teddy Sherrill, Kyle and Sarah Coomer, and Courtney Bowmer; several nephews, nieces, and loving family members.
