WEATHERFORD -- Jerry Wayne Jackson, born Sept 24, 1942, and passed away to be with the Lord at home in his sleep on October 3, 2016, in Weatherford.
Memorial Service: 3 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2016 in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.
Jerry was born in Saratoga, Indiana and spent his childhood there. He graduated from Ward-Jackson High School in 1961. Jerry was an outstanding athlete and was a four year letterman in Basketball, Volleyball, Cross Country, Baseball and Track and Field. Jerry married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Harvey of Winchester, Indiana in 1962. He and Joyce had one child, Heath. They moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1969, and he began working for the Larimer County Sheriff's Department as a deputy. He later worked for and retired from Eastman Kodak after working in Fire, Safety and Security for 30 years.
He and Joyce moved to Texas in 1999. Jerry continued to work at his passion of American Art pottery restoration when they moved to Granbury and later to Weatherford. Jerry was well respected by his friends and family from across the country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Gene and Bob, and oldest sister, Doris.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Jackson of Weatherford, his son and daughter-in-law, Heath and Mary Jackson of Weatherford; his three grandchildren are Bethany, Caleb and Genevieve Jackson. He is also survived by his brothers, Jim And Paul Jackson; and his sister, Joyce Binstock.
