Jeanette, affectionately known to many as "Nannie" was born June 23, 1917 in Sanger to Ike and Flora Morris McClendon. After graduation from high school in Sanger, she married Johnnie Clark and was married to him until his death May 9, 1994. They raised two daughters: Joyce Jean Clark and Sherry Beth (Susie) Clark Williams.
Nannie worked at Consolidated (now Lockheed) during World War II as a "Rosie the Riveter", making the trip each day from Sanger to Fort Worth. Little did she know that 30 years later she would be living in White Settlement near the "Bomber Plant." Her home and family were the light of her life.
She was a great cook, loved preparing meals for family and friends and was famous for her chicken and dumplings and peach cobbler. Jeanette was active in PTA and Band Boosters while her daughters were in school. Nannie taught Sunday school classes at Briar Church of Christ for years, before moving to White Settlement in 1975 where she attended White Settlement Church of Christ, and later West Freeway Church of Christ. Nannie loved to travel and looked forward to her yearly Mother-Daughter's trips. She loved to tell about the time she met Daniel O'Donnell, her favorite Irish singer, after a concert in Branson. She was the "wind beneath our wings" and she lifted us up to soar. Thank you for being our mother. We love you.
The family would like to thank Kindred at Home Hospice for the wonderful, professional, compassionate care that was given.
Nannie was preceded in death by her parents; husband and her brother.
Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Joyce Clark of White Settlement, and Sherry Williams and husband, Bill of Saginaw; grandson, Todd Williams and wife, Staci of Grand Prairie; and great-grandchildren, Presleigh Williams and Garrett Williams.
