WEATHERFORD -- Neva Jo Sliger Winkle, 74, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016 with her family by her side.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Interment: Newsom Family Cemetery. Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Neva was born Sept. 21, 1942 in Dallas, the only child of Claude and Corinne Sliger. She married Perry Hugh Winkle on July 9, 1963 in Dallas. Neva was the mother of three boys, Doug, Scott and Rob, and the grandmother of six grandsons; two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. Her family was her everything.
Neva worked in accounting in her career and twenty of those years were with George, Morgan and Sneed, P.C.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Corinne Sliger; her oldest son, Douglas Hugh Winkle; and her in-laws, Vernon and Alyne Winkle.
Neva is survived by her soul mate and husband of 53 years, Perry Hugh Winkle; sons, Scott and wife, Trish, Robert and wife, Angela, James Winkle and wife, Sherry, and Phillip Winkle and wife, Lori; grandchildren, Ryan Winkle and wife, April, Nathan Winkle, Colton Winkle and wife, Sophie, Ty Winkle, Mickey Winkle, Wyatt Winkle, Garrett Surginer, Rusty Surginer and Justin Surginer; sisters-in-law, Joann and husband, Finis Phy, of Mesquite; Nancy Wagoner of Virginia; special cousins and friends, Dwight and Bridgett Stevens; and many other loving family members and friends.
