In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Parker County Committee on Aging, Senior Citizens Center, 1225 Holland Lake Drive, Weatherford, Texas 76086, where Rita could be seen every Tuesday and Thursday playing bingo. Rita was born in Hull, Quebec, Canada on October 29, 1925. She was a “Dream Child” immigrant who didn't know she was not a U.S. citizen until applying for a passport to travel with her children to be with her husband, U.S. Army Sergeant Lawrence Zerbach, stationed in Germany. Rita was known as Mrs. Clean because she maintained a spotless home and restaurant, where she started as a waitress and eventually became manager in El Paso, Texas. She was the best of cooks, first learning from her French Canadian Mother, Evon, and expanding on that through the restaurant and her travels. There wasn't a food she wasn't willing to try, unless it had honey in it. Rita was a lady of extreme generosity and kindness. Her life enriched all those she touched. We love and miss you Mom. Rita is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Zerbach. She is survived by her children, Barbara Decker, Bonnie Walls, and Michael Zerbach; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
