Willis B. Welch, Jr. 62, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016.
Service: 10:00 A.M. Thursday at White's Azle Chapel. Interment: Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at White's Azle Funeral Home.
Willis was born June 12, 1954 in Azle to Willis Welch, Sr. and Eunice Rhoten Welch. He graduated from Riverside High School, attended TCC and TCU studying music. Willis loved to play the piano. He got to meet Van Cliburn at one of his concerts and even got to go back stage and talk to him. He bought himself a grand piano and our mother said he almost drove her nuts practicing.
Willis retired from Fort Worth ISD in 2014 after 38 years. His last position was Textbook Supervisor. Willis never met a stranger had a wonderful personality and made friends easily.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Thanks to all of his caregivers at the assisted living and at the hospice facility.
