HALTOM CITY -- Ruben Veloz, Sr., 59, beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2016 at home, surrounded by loved ones. Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 7341 Glenview Dr., N. Richland Hills. Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday with Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Ruben was born on October 26, 1957 in El Paso, son of Hijinio and Emilia Macias Veloz. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Ruben enjoyed being an auto mechanic and working in the oil field industry, but he was truly a handy man of all trades. He loved going fishing and spending time with his family. Ruben was a faithful member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in North Richland Hills. He was preceded in death by his father, Hijinio Veloz. Survivors: Mother, Emilia Veloz; son, Ruben Veloz, Jr.; daughter, Lisa Ann Veloz; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Teresa Whitt and Mary Ann Castillo; brothers, Joe Veloz, Hijinio Veloz, Jr., Rudy Cordero, Jesse Veloz and Felix Veloz; many nieces and nephews; beloved cat, Moose; and many other loving family members and friends.
