WEATHERFORD -- Flo Stroud Williams, 89, a retired businesswoman, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, at a Fort Worth Hospital. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, 76086. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford. Visitation: She will lie in state from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at White's Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Weatherford College Foundation in memory of Flo Williams. Flo was born Nov. 9, 1927, in Tin Top to Susie Carter and Louis Stroud. She married Sam R. Williams on March 7, 1947, in the First Baptist Church of Weatherford, where she was also a lifelong member. Flo pursued a career in banking, which began at the M&F State Bank of Weatherford. Her successful banking career ended at the Ridglea State Bank in Fort Worth. Flo and Sam owned Holiday Cleaners on South Main and Palo Pinto Street from 1976 to 1991. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Weatherford College Alumni Association and the Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Bob Williams; son, Bobby Williams; grandson, Robert Andrew Smith; siblings, Ruth Hurt, James Stroud and Herman Stroud; and sisters-in-law, Marilyn Stroud and Barbara Stroud. Survivors: Daughters, Patty Smith and Janet Ricker; grandchildren, Chris Smith and wife, Kristi, Marc Smith, Robby Williams; great-grandchildren, Presley Trejo and husband, Elias, Riley Smith, Devon Smith, and Landry Smith; great-great-grandchildren, Carson and Dawson Trejo; sisters, Naomi Stroud Turk and Ola Stroud Culwell; brothers, Norris Stroud and Eddie Stroud; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
