WEATHERFORD - John Conway Claunch, 71, beloved father, brother and friend, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at a local hospital surrounded by loved ones.Funeral Service:  2 p.m. Friday, White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave. , Weatherford.Interment:  Zion Hill Cemetery, Parker County.Visitation:  6 - 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral homeJohn was born October 6, 1945 in Weatherford, son of William Conway Claunch and Winnie Green Claunch.  He retired from the United States Army after honorably serving his country for 28 years, with the rank of Command Sgt. Major.John was preceded in death by his father, William Conway Claunch; mother, Winnie Green Claunch; brothers, Tom Claunch and James Claunch; sisters, Dianna Whitner and Mary Jo Wimberly.Survivors:  Daughter, Leona Claunch; son, Raymond Claunch and daughter-in-law, Laurie Claunch; daughter, Aleshia Howe and son-in-law, Dustin Howe; friend, Tammy Marie Proctor; brother, Perry Claunch; and many others.
