Weatherford - Terrell Taylor, 86, beloved husband, father, brother and friend, went home to be with his Heavenly Father Friday, January 27, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones.Funeral Service: 2 p.m. on Monday at North Main Church of God, 803 N. Main St., Weatherford.Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford.Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.Leonard Terrell Taylor was born February 23, 1930 in Deport, son of Dave Taylor and Eustace Charlene Sain Taylor. He met Iva Dell Hall, the love of his life, and they married September 1, 1951 in Bonham and they had 65 happy years together. They had their first child, Melinda Joyce Taylor, on July 24, 1957 and their second child, Sandra Kay Taylor, on January 14, 1960. Together they followed their calling in the ministry which lasted over 60 years. Terrell was a master builder, constructing churches, parsonages and office complexes across the United States. He was a successful pastor, state evangelism director and state overseer. Terrell had an infectious smile, beautiful blue eyes and was full of wit and personality. He was known as "Papaw" to his four grandchildren and his six great-grandchildren. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all the lives he touched.Terrell was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Katherine Alvord and Davene Dority.Survivors: Wife of 65 years, Iva Dell Taylor; daughters, Melinda Tomlin and husband, Jerrel, of Mineral Wells, and Sandy Holt and husband, Doug, of Paris; brother, Carroll Gene Taylor of Paris; four grandchildren, Amber Holt Winters and husband, Robbie, Chace Holt and wife, Kaylie, Jerry Tomlin and wife, Maycan, and Taylor Tomlin and wife, Sheridan; six great-grandchildren, and many other loving family members, church family and friends.Services are in care of White's Funeral Home, Weatherford.
