HUDSON OAKS, TEXAS - Sara Agatha (Aggie) Jones Hiers passed peacefully at the age of 98 on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in Hudson Oaks, Texas, where she had resided since 2002 with her son-in-law, Gerald L. Chandler, (LTC) Retired, U.S. Army, and daughter, Martha Elizabeth (Biba) Hiers Chandler. She was born in Clinton, S.C. on June 4, 1918 and was preceded in death by husband, Marion C Hiers.She was the daughter of the late Annie Byrd Davis Phillips Jones and Robert Erwin Jones. She was predeceased by her sisters, Emily Phillips McMillian, Martha Phillips Greenwood, Elizabeth Fluinoy (Bessie) Jones and her brother, LT Robert Erwin Jones.She is survived by her sons Marion (Mac) C. Hiers, Jr. (Fonda) of Ridgeville, S.C and Robert Erwin Hiers (Cindy) of West Palm Beach, Florida and two daughters, Sara (Bill) Harrelson of Opelika, Alabama and Jerry and Biba Chandler of Hudson Oaks, TX.She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Jennifer (Blair) Jeffery of Houston, TX., Sara (Bret) Bentley of Arlington, TX, Gerald Lee Chandler, Jr. (Audra) of Edmond, OK, Ann Pollard (Phillip) of Auburn, AL, Lou (Mandy) Harrelson of Auburn, AL, William, Sara Beth and Andrew Hiers of West Palm Beach, Florida. Surviving great grandchildren, Will and Michael Jeffery, Lexi and Bryson Bentley, Ashtin, Gavin and Samantha Chandler, Hunter Harrelson, Mason Pollard and Tyler Hiers. She is also survived by several nieces and a nephew and their families.Aggie lived most of her life in Clinton, S.C. where she was employed as a receptionist at Presbyterian College until her retirement. She loved people and especially the students at the college. When anyone was ill she made her famous boiled custard and took it to them as it was something people going through chemotherapy could eat. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, S.C. for many years.She enjoyed traveling to the various places her daughter and son-in-law were stationed making many friends along the way. Her most precious gifts were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.No services will be held. Her ashes will be spread at her homestead in Clinton, S.C.Arrangements are in care of White's Funeral Home, Weatherford, Texas.
