Alfred Robert “Bob” Byrd, 79, also known as the “World’s Tallest Midget”, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019 at a local care facility. Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, 76086. Interment: Zion Hill Cemetery, Weatherford. Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Monday at White’s Funeral Home. Bob was born February 5, 1940 in Milford, son of Alfred W. Byrd and Leata Mae Hale Byrd. He proudly and honorably served in the U. S. Army for 6 years and in the National Guard for 13 years. Bob retired from Lockheed after many years of devoted service. He served as President of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Association for 14 years. Bob was a devoted and loving family man and a dear friend to many. He will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Todd Byrd; sisters, Joyce Wilburn and Ruth Barnett; and son-in-law, Michael Gill. Survivors: Wife, Sherri Byrd; daughter, Tanya Gill; grandchildren, Robert Byrd, Dalton Byrd, Roman Gill, and Charis Gill; great-granddaughter, Mya Byrd; and a host of extended family and friends.
