Anita Belle Harwell Smith, 84, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020. Graveside Service: 2 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2020 in Dean Cemetery, Parker County. Visitation: 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, 76086. Anita was born February 8, 1936 in Weatherford, one of seven children born to Clyde Lee and Frankie Lucille Bowman Harwell. She spent most of her life in Weatherford and graduated from Weatherford High School. Anita loved playing volleyball and basketball in high school and her 1953 Girls Volleyball Team was inducted into the WHS Hall of Fame in 2011. She later graduated from Atlanta Area Technical School for Accounting during her 15 years in Georgia. Anita also lived in Italy for three years. She worked as an executive secretary for Best Maid Pickle Company in Fort Worth for 12 years. Nita felt this was a top of the line company. She also worked for the City of Weatherford, and sold real estate during her time in Georgia. Nita loved history and reading. She always wanted to learn something new. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life, and they all brought her great joy and happiness. Anita was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Buster Marlin Harwell, Lee Roy Harwell, Walter Newton Harwell, Robert Lee Harwell, and James Leonard Harwell. Survivors: Sons, Randall Lee Deel and wife, Kathy, of Panama, and Barry Craig Smith and wife, Jenny, of Jackson, Georgia; grandchildren, Barry Craig Smith, Jr., Dustin Lee Deel, Jacob Smith, Lucas Smith, Destiny Smith, Hank Reamy, Justin Reamy, Kayla Reamy, and Ethan Reamy; great-grandchild, Tucker Smith; sister, Betty Lou Massingill of Mineral Wells; many nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
