Memorial Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Avenue, Weatherford, Texas 76086. "Today it is with a very heavy heart that we have to inform you all that Barbara has gone to be with God. We know everyone says this about their own mom, but she was literally the most wonderful person anyone has ever met. She loved everyone, and hated no one. It always amazed us how big her heart was and how full of love she was. Every person that came into her life left with a feeling of amazement that there are still such kind-hearted and loving people in the world. Barbara was preceded in death by her two wonderful parents Roy and Blanche, her brother Jerry, and her sister Bonnie. She is survived by her husband Benny of 49 years (2 months from making it to 50!), her two sons Daniel Scott and David Ray, Daughter-in-Law Becky, her two grandchildren Chandler and Caden, her sister Connie, her several nieces and nephews, and of course her many friends. She loved all of her friends and family, but honestly, she probably loved her animals the most. She had Cocker Spaniels her whole life. Her first was Carmel when she was growing up in Nebraska and the last was Keisha that died just a couple years ago (possibly from TOO MUCH love!). For those of you that didn't know, Barbara has been having some health issues since about August of last year. She was admitted to the ICU with respiratory drive issues. We actually thought we were going to lose her then. But she recovered and could breathe fine by the time she left the hospital. But being laid up for almost two months made her very weak, especially in the legs. We tried and tried to get her to go back to the nursing home for rehab, but she refused. She wanted to be home, and that's where she stayed. Throughout her adult life, she was mostly a stay at home mom -- and that was the most important job in the world to her. Of all the things she was to so many people, "mom" was her favorite title. Barbara, it's now time to take God's hand as he leads you through the gates of heaven. It's time to rest, now. Rest in eternal peace. We love you forever and ever. Amen."
