Barry Ed McGaughy

Barry Ed McGaughy, the son of Edward and Helen McGaughy, stepson of Weldon Jones, and stepson of Elom Harbin, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 6:22 am on Thursday, August 30th at the age of 67. A graduate of Crosbyton High School in 1969, Barry lived the first years of his life in Waco, Texas, and lived in California from 1972 to 1991 before moving back to Crosby County. Along time supporter of Crosbyton 4-H and FFA, Barry spent the last years of his life in Azle, Texas enjoying retiring and spending time with his children and grand children. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be hosted in his honor on Sunday, September 9th at 3:00 p.m. at Saltgrass Steakhouse in Forth Worth, Texas. Family and friends wishing to pay their respects can donate to the Crosby County Livestock Show or a charity of their choice in lieu of flowers. Monetary donations should be mailed to the attention of Dusty Cornelius at P.O. Box 222, Crosbyton, Texas 79322. Barry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda (New) McGaughy, sons Kory McGaughy of Whitesboro and Zac McGaughy of Azle, and daughter, Melyssa McGaughy of Azle, along with daughter in laws Tamra (Sommerfeld) McGaughy and Amber (Wobbrock) McGaughy and grandchildren Caden, Toby, and Millie McGaughy. Barry was preceded in death by his father, mother, step-fathers, brother, Mark McGaughy, and sister, Dorris (McGaughy) Spoonts.
