Ben Edward Gray took his place at the domino table in heaven joining his father and two brothers on June 24, 2017. He was 66 years old. Ben was born on October 12, 1950. in Gorman, Texas. He married the love of his life, Mary J. Gray, in 1974. The Gray's moved to Mineral Wells in 1980 where they planted their roots and a family grew. Ben was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and active in the Knights of Columbus. Ben Gray lived an incredible life which no words can accurately describe. But those that met him knew that when you spoke with him you felt as though you had known him your whole life. All it took was a handshake followed by "Ben Grays my name" and you never had a more loyal friend. He was always there to lend a hand or make a joke and in most cases you would get both. He worked hard every day of his life and gave his family everything they needed and more. His family is bigger than blood. It extends to all those that were welcomed into his home and found a seat at a Sunday dinner, an Easter BBQ, luau, or birthday party. He lived with an open heart and a giving spirit that continues on through his wife, children, grandchildren, and all of those that were lucky enough to know him. Ben Gray is survived by his wife, Mary J. Gray, his son Carlos Gray and daughter-in-law Nichole Gray; his son Samuel Gray and daughter-in-law Jeri Gray; his son Daniel Gray and daughter-in-law Tasha Gray; his daughter Mary A. Gray; grandchildren, Samantha Gray, Sistina Gray, Carlos Gray, Elizabeth Gray, Maddie Gray, Tristan Gray, Brandon Gray, and Addilyn Gray; his mother, Laura Lee Ply; and his sister Laura Ann Gray. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family that he cared for deeply. He is preceded in death by his father, Ben Gray; his brothers William Gray and David Gray. A Rosary will be held on Wednesday June, 28th at 6pm followed by a viewing until 8pm at White's funeral home. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday June 29th at 10am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic.
