Bernardo Gaeta Ortiz, son of Martin and Erlinda Ortiz was born in Ranger, on August 20, 1945. On Wednesday, June 10, 2020, Bernardo crossed over the River of Jordan and met his Savior and a host of family members waiting to welcome him home. Visitation and Rosary will be Monday, June 15, 2020 at 6 p.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1802 Bethel Road, Weatherford, Texas 76086 and Celebration of Life Mass on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Bernardo was a lifelong resident of Millsap. He was a faithful member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Bernardo’s great passion besides his family was helping others. He loved to volunteer with his church and his community. He served with the Millsap Cemetery Association as a caretaker of the cemetery. Bernardo never met a stranger and so many called him “friend”. He married the love of his life, Kathy, on July 1, 1978 and enjoyed almost 42 years of marriage. He is the cherished father of Elisa and Franco. Bernardo was the very proud “Lito” of Brandon Inmon, Cole Inmon, Marc Reveles, Nathaniel Ortiz and Haley Davis. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his grandkids and doing for them. He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Ortiz; brother, Joe Ortiz; sister, Linda Weiss; sister-in-law, Becky Ortiz; brother-in-law, Joseph Presser; and nephew, Marty Weiss. Bernardo is survived by a multitude of family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Kathy of Millsap; his mother, Erlinda Ortiz of Millsap; daughter, Elisa Reveles and husband, John, of Millsap; son, Franco Ortiz and wife, Jamie of Millsap; grandchildren, Brandon, Cole, Marc, Nathaniel and Haley; sisters, Nickie Presser of Millsap, Dorothy Hall and husband, Gary of Cool; brothers, Anthony Ortiz and wife, Heidi of Germany; Albert Ortiz and wife, Tammy of Porter, and Johnny Ortiz and wife, Angie of Spring; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
