Our sweet Mama, Gran & Great-Gran left this earth Sunday, September 15, 2019 surrounded by her family. Memorial Service: Saturday, September 21, 2019, 10:00 A.M. at White's Funeral Home, Azle, Texas. Her ashes will lie in rest next to Norman in the Catholic Cemetery, Montague, Texas at a later date. Betty was born to Mamie (Tuley) and Lawrence Bragg on December 31, 1931. She was the baby in a family of four sisters and one brother. It is true she was an accomplished piano player who enjoyed accompanying fiddlers across the country. Betty was also a gracious hostess, a great cook, a timid gambler, traveler, gardener, and floraphile. Playing Texas Fiddle music and being with the musicians and their families were times she relished and looked forward to. Betty recently resided in an assisted living center where she was noted for her musically gifted guests. The residents would frequently inquire about the next jam session. Her family would like to thank those who took the time to visit her and bring your instruments. You will never know how much those visits meant to her. She easily made friends and loved her nurses and neighbors. She was not bad at Bingo, cornhole and washers. She enjoyed working in their community garden and watching it grow. She married Norman Solomon on August 19, 1949 in Weatherford, Texas. To this union was born a daughter, Sharon followed with a son, Ronald. They recall "lots of music every weekend" in their home. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Solomon; and her daughter-in-law, Vicky (Keyworth) Solomon. She is survived by her daughter; Sharon (Joe) Gillespie; son, Ronald Solomon; grandchildren, Brian (Carolina) Solomon, Kelley (Travis) Crumpton, Shannon Pegues; and six great-grandchildren.
