Betty Sue Spivey

Betty Sue Spivey, 84, passed away Friday, August 26, 2022 at her home in Santo. Graveside Service: 2 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2022 at Santo North Cemetery, Santo Texas. Betty was born in Hamlin, Texas on May 9, 1938 to Lester and Dona Whitley. She enjoyed gardening in her flower beds, playing her old records, painting pictures, playing dominoes, and cooking for her family. Betty had a great love of the holidays because they brought her family together. She loved telling stories of her days as an Army wife and also sharing stories about her grandbabies. Over the years, Betty has touched many lives, and she will be missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her father, Lester Whitley; mother, Dona Whitley; husband, Eugene Spivey; sisters, Charlene Starnes, and Caroline Taylor; brothers, Ossice Whitley, Gerald Whitley and JL Whitley; daughter, Patty Brogdon; daughters-in-law, Kathy Spivey, and Karen Spivey; sons-in-law, Howard Brogdon and Jim Foreman. Betty is survived by her children; Tamara Foreman, Diana Spivey, James Spivey, Darryl Spivey, Toby and Brenda Brogdon and James and Amber Brogdon; sisters, Mary Upshaw, Margret Kingston, and Lavern Starnes; brothers, Danny Whitley, Steven Whitley, Wayne Whitley, and Benny Whitley; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; numerous great great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
