Billy Ray Henson, 84, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 in Weatherford, Texas. Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford. Visitation: 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Billy’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association. Billy was born April 12, 1936 in Munday, Texas, son of Henry and Mae Henson. He was the youngest of six siblings and was raised in the farming community of Munday, where he graduated from high school. Billy went on to attend Texas Tech University where he obtained a degree in petroleum engineering. Upon graduation, he went to work for Halliburton Company. He later continued his engineering career with Texaco before moving on to become a trust officer in the oil and gas department at First of Fort Worth Bank. During his working years, he obtained his Professional Engineer certification and was active in the Texas Wildcatters Association. Billy retired from Bank of America in 1997, where he had been a senior vice president in the trust department. The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers and staff at Martin Crest Senior Living in Weatherford, and to hospice nurses and staff at Encompass Health. Billy is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patsy, of Weatherford; his children, Jeff Henson and wife, Tonya, of Weatherford, and Amy Belson and husband, Bruce, of Weatherford; three grandchildren, Chase, Elizabeth, and Robert; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and many extended family members and longtime friends.
