Billy Herman McLin, 87, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023 in Graham. Visitation: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2023 in White’s Chapel of Memories, Weatherford. Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley Memorial Park, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford, Texas 76088. Billy was born November 13, 1935 in Pettibone, son of William Ross and Ruth Olee (Barfield) McLin. He proudly and bravely served his country in the United States Army during the Korean war. Billy met the love of his life, Betty McDaniel, and they were married on June 3, 1961. They would go on to spend 62 happy years together. Billy was known as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an amazing provider for his family. He worked for many years for the State of Texas, up until his retirement. While he had many interests and loves, his first love was his Lord and Savior. His faith, prayerful spirit, and a constant song in his heart will forever be remembered by his family. Billy is preceded in death by his parents; children, Rune Smak, Elsie Phillips, Mary Jean McLin, and Billy Phillips; brother, Robert Chaney; sister, Wanda Riley; and granddaughter, Sally Allport. Survivors include his loving wife, Betty McLin; children, James Edward Phillips, Kenneth Ross McLin (Teresa), Deanie McLin (Sharon Faye), and Wanda Latham (Bruce); grandchildren, Paul Phillips (Ellie), Penny Gunn (Ryan), Jineffer Cross (David), Jinell Smith (Thomas), Lisa Sthur (Travis), Phillip Long, Daniel Long (Kristie), Ellen Bowser, Vickie Burleson (Charles), Latrisha Winder, Joy Dawn Long, Kenneth McLin, Jr. (Dana), Sharon McLin, Misty Thun, Mark Chavez, Martha Holder, Bradley Newland, Tony McLin (April), Jennifer Romines (Tony), Ashley McLin, Colby McLin, Shona Kaye Meeks (Caleb), Brandy Renee Scarlett (Justin), Brett Lyndall Meeks; 53 great-grandchildren; numerous great great-grandchildren; sisters, Murl Linck, Sandra Catlin, and Katherine Catlin; brother, Milton Catlin; and a host of extended family and friends.
