Bobbie Lou Irwin

May 16, 1934 — February 22, 2021

Bobbie Lou Irwin of Perrin, age 86, entered eternal rest on Monday, February 22, 2021. No service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, or your favorite charity. Bobbie was born May 16, 1934 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Walter Herbert and Elsie Bell Dunnavant. She attended Fountain Lake School in Hot Springs and married her childhood sweetheart, Johnnie Joe Irwin, in 1952. They moved to Texas in 1955 and she remained a devoted and loving wife even after his passing in 1999. A host of surviving family and friends will remember her candid and sharp-witted sense of humor, her common sense anecdotes and phrases, and especially her joyous laugh. Bobbie was a splendid lady who was always so neatly pressed and put together. She made the art of homemaking look easy, always inviting with a home cooked meal and endless candy and ice cream treats. Bobbie was a lesson in southern hospitality. Like her daughters now, her service to her family was her greatest joy. Whether a garment in need of a patch, or an empty cup to fill or wash, she served without ever a complaint. These things are now her legacy and she always made it look easy. She will be greatly missed. Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Joe Irwin; granddaughter, Heather Law; great-granddaughter, Brynlee Zylman; and son-in-law, Doug Shue. Heather always teased Bobbie that she “never worked a day in her life”. She is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca Zylman and husband, Paul, of Perrin, and Carrie Irwin of Lahaina, Maui; two grandsons, Paul Irwin Zylman and wife, Tammy, of Mabank, and their children, Gabriel, 11, and Audrey, 8, and Jason Zylman and wife, Kiley, of Weatherford, and their children, Tell, 11, and Josephine, 8.
