To Live-Stream Funeral Service Click Here Buford Don Gill, rancher and lifelong resident of Parker County, died at his home in Brock, surrounded by family at the age of 86, on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Funeral Service will be led by Brother Danny Shearman at North Side Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Brock Cemetery in Brock, Texas. He will be lying in state on Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for those who need to avoid the crowds, and family will be present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for regular visitation, at White’s Funeral Home in Weatherford. Pallbearers will be Briley Worthington, Dan McIntosh, Stetson Hurlbert, Mason Strickland, Joshua Farmer and Gaspar Rubio. Honorary pallbearers will be Herbert McFarland, Roger Dixon, Clint Petrey, Mark Beaty, Booper Rokus, and Donnie Denman. Memorials are suggested to the Parker County Livestock Improvement Assoc., P. O. Box 1744, Weatherford, TX 76086. Don was born January 5, 1935 in Weatherford, son of Buford and Muncie Williams Gill. He served in the National Guard, was a lifelong Rancher, member of the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse, served as President and superintendent of the Parker County Livestock Association, and a Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Dennis. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Munsie Gill; wife of 63 years, Norma Bell Gill; two children, Cecil Don and Debbie Renea; five sisters, Marie Phillips, Ella Murphy, Fay Malone, Vaudine Cooper, and Patsy Beaty; along with two brothers, Blake Gill and Sherrod Gill. He is survived by his three daughters, Donna Felton, Terri Hurlbert and husband, Steve, and Brenda Gill Strickland and Marty Strickland; grandchildren, Brooklyn McIntosh and husband, Dan, Briley Worthington and wife, Casey, Brittney Farmer and husband, Josh, Mason Strickland, and Stetson Hurlbert; great-grandchildren, Kallen O’Neal, Lyla McIntosh, Leddy McIntosh, and Hayes Worthington; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
