Calvin Carl "Corky" Dean

Calvin Carl “Corky” Dean, 70, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024 in Weatherford.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2024 at Lakeshore Baptist Church, 200 S. Lakeshore Dr., Hudson Oaks.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers remembrances can be made to Lakeshore Baptist Church for Allegro Ministries; or the Center of Hope in Weatherford.

Corky was born November 26, 1953 in Weatherford, son of Wilburn Wilson Dean and Sybol May (Walker) Dean. He graduated from Weatherford High School Class of 1972. Corky then attended Weatherford College, and then went on to complete his Bachelor’s Degree at Texas Wesleyan University. He worked many years in Information Technologies and would go on to retire as Regional IT Manager with the Texas Department of State Health Services. In addition, he spent several years as an Emergency Medical Technician, both in Weatherford and in Wichita Falls.

Corky was a long-time member of Lakeshore Baptist Church. He was very active with his church family. Until his health would no longer allow, he was a member of the Sanctuary Choir and he worked countless hours with the youth group at Lakeshore.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his sisters, Melinda Chrestman (Don), of Weatherford, and Myrna Cantrell, of Waco; nephews, Bryan Cantrell, of Waco, Collin Cantrell, of Houston, Kevin Cantrell, of San Francisco Calif., and Dean Chrestman, of Weatherford; nieces, Cathy Cantrell, of Waco, Shelley Bracken, of Dallas, and Laura Janssen, of Weatherford; and a host of extended family members and friends.
