Carlos “Rod” Rodriguez, Sr., 83, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, great-grandfather passed away Monday, April 4, 2022 in Springtown. Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 15, 2022 at White’s Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2022 at White’s Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown. Interment: 11:30 a.m., Friday, April 15, 2022 in Springtown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the American Cancer Society in memory of Carlos Rodriguez, Sr. Carlos was born July 14, 1938 in Edinburg, Texas, son of Gerardo Rodriguez and Ramona Ayala. He served in the U.S. Air Force, Strategic Air Command, as a Special Weapons Specialist/Nuclear Bombs (1957-1963). Carlos married the love of his life, Verlie Lorene Parker, on November 10, 1960 in Miami, Florida and spent 58 happy years together raising their family. His family was the light of his life. After military service, supported by his family, Carlos completed a distinguished 34 year Law Enforcement Career, including Police Officer, Deputy Sheriff, Federal Special Agent and Special Deputy U.S. Marshal. In retirement, Carlos loved building home related carpentry projects and engaged in computerized research on World/U.S. history, geography and family genealogy. Carlos was committed to God, family, country, and free masonary. He was a Master Mason, Grand Lodge of Texas and a 32nd Degree Mason in the Scottish Rite, Valley of Fort Worth and Grand Chapter of Texas, Order of the Eastern Star, Past Worthy Patron. Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Verlie Lorene Rodriguez and grandson, Dakota Garret Rodriguez. Survivors include his sons, Carlos Adrian Rodriguez and wife, Melissa; Gerardo Mario Rodriguez and wife, Julie Ann; Brother, Daniel Rodriguez, Sr. and wife Vivian; Sister, Ida Camargo; Granddaughters, Cheyenne Grace Rodriguez Uribe, Michala Adrian Rodriguez McRee and Savannah Lynn Rodriguez and Great-grandson Carson Michael McRee.
