Carolyn Browning, 77, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away suddenly Friday, January 12, 2018. Service: 2:00 P.M. Monday at White’s Funeral Home, Springtown. Interment: Opal Cemetery. Visitation: 12 to 2 P.M. Monday at White’s Funeral Home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First United Methodist Church in Springtown. She loved her church, her family and her long list of friends. Carolyn was born October 26, 1940 to Alton Woodrow and Ruby Gilley at the family farm in Springtown. She graduated from Springtown High School and was the basketball team’s star player. Carolyn married Lynn Browning in November of 1960. She retired from Springtown ISD after many years of being secretary to the superintendent. Carolyn was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Springtown. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lynn; two brothers; a sister, Norma; and grandson, Ryan. Survivors: Son, Tim Browning; daughter, Jamie Lowe and husband, Shane; granddaughters, Maegan South and husband, Sean, Kayla Medrid and husband, Michael, Alyssa Topper and husband, Jacob; three great-grandchildren and one on the way due in 2018; brother, Mike Gilley (Linda); sister, Sandra Pugh; sister-in-law, Lenora Browning; and numerous nieces and nephews.White's Funeral Home401 N.
