Chloe Maxine McKenzie Dugan, 85, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024 in White’s Chapel of Memories, Weatherford. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford. Maxine was born April 11, 1938, daughter of Theodore and Alice (Yandell) McKenzie. She met the love of her life, Sidney E. Dugan, Jr. and they were married on June 27, 1953. They would go on to spend 26 happy years together until his passing in 1979. Maxine enjoyed playing 42, playing poker, and trips to the casino. As long as her health would allow, she enjoyed traveling with her sisters. Of all of her interests in life, her first love was her family. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally. From baking for them, to attending sporting events “Grannie” was always there for her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sidney E. Dugan, Jr.; brothers, Wayne McKenzie, J.D. McKenzie, and Bobby Jack McKenzie; and one sister, Betty Tipton. Survivors include her children, Deborah Peacock (Craig), Steven Dugan (Kelley), Connie Fowler (Richard), Donna Crayton (Wayne), and Sidney “Sid” Dugan III; grandchildren, Chad Peacock, Joni Williams, Brian Goolsby, Emily Thomas, Rod Fowler, Rene Dickey, Ace Crayton, Josh Stewart, and Danae Dugan; 22 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Eula Smith and Billie Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends. Maxine had a talent for making everyone feel special, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
