Christopher Michael Craven, 72, passed away on August 19, 2023 in his home with his family. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Cornerstone Community Church in Springtown, TX. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Cornerstone Community Church in Springtown, TX. Christopher was born September 29, 1950 in Charleston, South Carolina to Frank Edward Craven, Jr. and Merlene Ruth Johnson. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1970 and was stationed on Island of Diego Garcia, located in the Indian Ocean. He worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard until it closed down and transferred to Carswell Navy Base in Fort Worth, TX., retiring in 2005. Christopher married Catherine Goetz in 1974 and they had four children. His hobbies included anything and everything pertaining to the Civil War and World Wars, and the weapons, airplanes and submarines, etc. used during those wars. He loved to travel and took the family on many road trips to visit all the major national parks in the United States. Because he loved to drive, he purposely took all the scenic routes wherever he went! Christopher respected family heritage/history and he was a wealth of information about the Craven family tree. He was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Springtown. Christopher was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Greg Craven and his sister, Mary Ruth Craven. Christopher is survived by his wife, Catherine; sons, Johnathan Craven, Jason Craven and wife Teresa, Patrick Craven; daughter, Danielle Craven Pruitt and husband Jason; brother, Frank E. Craven, III; grandchildren, Trent, Logan, Lilly, and Alice. Above all, he absolutely loved being a devoted husband, father, “Pawpaw” and friend. His grandchildren were the second best fulfillment of his life. He loved them all so much!!
