Clyde Theodore “Ted” Mayberry, 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend passed away Saturday, August 8, 2020. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2020 at Spring Creek Cemetery, Parker County. Memorials: In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Central Christian Church. Ted was born in Pratt, Kansas where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Darlene, on May 22, 1954. After a short detour in Ohio, Ted and his young family moved to Texas, which he said was one of the best things he ever did. He was hired by what would eventually become Lockheed Martin, in 1957. They hired him without a degree and even put him through school at Texas Christian University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. After 37 years, Ted retired to his property in Weatherford. He was a member of Central Christian Church in Weatherford. Ted loved to tell stories and get together with his large family, of which he was enormously proud. His smile will be sorely missed. When asked the question “how are you?” Ted was known to answer “nearly perfect”, and now he is perfect. He was preceded in death by his son, Kelly Mayberry. Ted left behind his wife of 66 years, Darlene Mayberry; children, Teresa Childers, Mark Mayberry, and Laura Gainous; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; countless nieces and nephews and many friends.
