Dana was born in Waco, Texas on May 6, 1958, to Raymond Douglas Pillow and Jolene (Darnall) Pillow. After the death of her father in 1965, she moved with her remaining family to Haltom City, Texas to be near her grandparents, Oscar and Myrtle Mize. She went to schools in Haltom City, graduating from Haltom High School in 1977. While in high school she loved participating in volleyball and basketball. She was on the Haltom High Basketball team.
Dana met the love of her life, David McGee, in October 1985, at the daycare where his grandmother worked and Dana kept her precious son, Shawn Lain. They married in 1986 and eventually moved to Weatherford, Texas where she continued to have an even larger family that included her many animals. She was always the light of life with a big smile for everyone. She never met a stranger.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Pillow; grandparents, Grady Darnall (Louise), Myrtle Mize (Oscar), and Lillie Pillow (Coke); and stepfather, ZT Armstrong.
Those left to cherish her memory are her dear husband, David; son, Shawn (Brittany); mother, Jolene Armstrong; sister, Joni Diane Norton (Lee); brothers, Douglas Pillow (Patricia), and David Pillow; father-in-law, Bill McGee (Ann); brothers-in-law, Robert McGee, Don McGee (Connie), Randy McGee, and David Martin (Noel); sister-in-law, Rhonda McGee; and many nephews, great nephews and nieces, cousins and friends.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. – 1 Peter 1:3
