Daniel W. Johnson, age 85, of Aledo, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 30, 2023. Memorial Service: 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the Church at the Crossing, 128 Elm St., Aledo. Graveside Service: 3 p.m. Thursday at Aledo Brown Cemetery in Aledo. Daniel was born on December 10, 1937 in Santa Anna, Texas. He graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1955. He attended and played football at Texas A & M and was coached by Bear Bryant. Later he attended TCU night school, majoring in Business Management. Daniel attended and enjoyed worshiping at the Church at the Crossing in Aledo. Daniel began his career with the Fort Worth Division of Convair Aerospace in 1957. The company was later renamed General Dynamics and then Lockheed Martin. He retired in 2000 after forty-three years with the company. He held various management positions over his tenure, principally in the telecommunications, telegraph, teleconference and facsimile systems, local and long distance voice and data networks, electronic mail, personal computers and associated networks. Other management responsibilities included the F-16 data depository, division archives, mail services, division systems, and procedures. Daniel married the love of his life, Maggie Howard on March 8, 1958. They celebrated over fifty-five glorious years together prior to her death in 2013. His parents and two brothers also preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Heady and husband, Ricky, of Fort Worth; son, Michael Johnson of Aledo; sister, Simianne Hayden and husband, Chris, of Fort Worth; grandson, Nicholas Heady and his wife, Bradleigh, of Alabaster, Alabama; niece, Muriel Hayden of Long Beach, California; and four loving sisters-in-law.
