David Leon Linehan

David Leon Linehan, 88, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus, on Thursday, July 13, 2023 in Weatherford after a short illness. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at White’s Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown. Interment: Tuesday, July 18, 2023 in Goshen Cemetery, Springtown. He was the only child of Emitt W. Linehan and Rena Stone Linehan of the Union Community. David was born November 7, 1934, and graduated from Poolville High School and attended Weatherford College. He married Bettye Weatherly Branch in Springtown in 1971. David was employed by two banks in Arlington and later became Vice-President of Citizens National Bank in Weatherford. He later was an electrician and spent much of his time on his ranch. David was a member of the Central Baptist Church, however, he and his wife Bettye enjoyed doing mission work in small churches and were currently serving at Gibtown Baptist Church. He was a deacon and sought to be an encourager. David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bettye Weatherly Linehan; son, David D. Linehan; daughter, DeLayne Jack and husband James; grandchildren, Jarrod Jack and wife, Candace and Ian Jack; cousin, Patrice Epps Cain; cousin and caretaker, Milburn Smith.
