Dawson Everett Tetts

April 24, 1998 — June 1, 2019

Dawson Everett Tetts, 21, the kid with the infectious laugh and a small army of friends, passed away early Saturday morning in a car accident. He was a 2016 graduate of Azle High School. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 6, in the main sanctuary of Ash Creek Baptist Church, the church he was baptized in. Dawson was born April 21, 1998 to Jerry and Jenniffer Tetts of Azle. He grew up in Azle, attending local schools and excelling in a variety of activities – including baseball -- which he played all the way from Little League to the Azle High School varsity squad and select summer baseball teams. But music is where he excelled most. A superior trombonist, Dawson earned several 1st division ratings and excelled in regional and state competitions while competing with the high school band. Yet quite possibly his greatest attribute was his ability to make friends. Dawson, intensely loyal, was always ready to laugh and have fun with the people he included as his extended family. He will be greatly missed by many. He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Jenniffer; and his sister, Alyssa; his grandparents Charles R. Gilley and wife, Sandy; Jerry Tetts Sr. and wife, Carolyn; and grandmother, Becky Gibson, also a member of Ash Creek Baptist Church; many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends are included in his extended family.    Dawson was an organ donor, wanting to give the gift of life after his passing.
