Della Lou (James) Coffman, 82, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022 in Weatherford, surrounded by loved ones. There are no services planned at this time. Lou was born September 21, 1940 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Samuel Homer and Maudie Belle (Fraley) James. She grew up in Fletcher, Oklahoma, where she graduated as Valedictorian of the Fletcher Class of 1958. Lou met Robert “Bob” Coffman, a MP Officer, at Fort Sill in 1956. They were married June 25, 1959 in Fletcher, Oklahoma. They spent 55 years together until his death in 2015. After they were married, they moved to Ossining, New York until 1975 and then to Mahopac, New York until 1994. They had two sons, Robert “Rob” and Greg. Lou worked for many years as a travel agent for Corporate Travel in Montvale, New Jersey, commuting over 100 miles each day. After retiring, Bob and Lou moved to Weatherford, Texas to be closer to their two sons and their grandchildren. Lou loved to cook! There was no such thing as “sitting down to a small meal” at her table. She enjoyed gardening and LOVED to shop! She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers, Othel “Kilroy” James, Clyde James, and Chesley James; and three sisters, Melba Ryans, Pauline Williams, and Shelba Jean McAdoo. Lou is survived by her two sons, Robert “Rob” Coffman and wife, Jeanine, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Greg Coffman and wife, Sheila, of Sanford, Florida; two grandsons, Ryan Coffman and wife, Tatum, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Cole Coffman of Sanford, Florida; one granddaughter, Alyssa Boettiger and husband, Paul, of Owasso, Oklahoma; two great-granddaughters, Carter and Addison; and many nieces and nephews who loved her.
