Dennie Carroll Harms, 74, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024 at his home in Springtown, surrounded by his family

Dennie was born February 28, 1950 in Springtown; son of W.C. and Alma Ruth (Hawk) Harms.
He grew up on his family's dairy farm in Springtown. He excelled in athletics, playing football, basketball, and running track, in which he advanced to State in high school. His talent earned him a spot on the Athletic Hall of Honor in Springtown. After graduation from high school, Dennie went off to college at Colorado State on a football scholarship, where he earned Defensive Player of the Year, and graduated with a degree in Agricultural Economics in 1971.
Dennie became a very active member of the community by serving on the Parker County Hospital Board, on Springtown City Council, and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Springtown. He also owned and operated the Harms Farm Store in Springtown. Later in life, Dennie enjoyed traveling overseas and hunting with his brother and son.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wendell Harms and Melton Harms; and wife Janice Ritchey Harms.
Survivors include his son, Blu Harms, and wife Josey Harms of Elmore City, OK; daughter, Tiffany Gandy, and husband Lee of Frisco; grandchildren, Rylan, Dawson, and Summer Harms; sister-in-law Mary Jo Harms, of Springtown; numerous nieces and nephews; and life partner, Carolyn Thompson.
