Diane was born on February 8th, 1947, to Robert and Jane Phillips of Rotan, TX. She married Billy Dycus, her high school sweetheart, in August 1966. She graduated from Sul Ross State College in May 1969 with a degree in Art Education. After Billy joined the Air Force, they moved many times.  Diane’s chosen field was Homemaker.  The couple welcomed three children into their home. Her children remember her as a loving Mother who prayed for them daily and encouraged them to pursue their goals. This role continued throughout the years as she welcomed nine grandchildren into the family.  Diane was an accomplished artist, and a generous and dedicated wife, mother, and Mamaw, who loved her family. She was an active and dedicated member of many churches as they moved to and from several bases. Once settled in Azle, Diane dedicated herself as a volunteer to the community through The Abbey Church, Community Caring Center, and Azle Senior Center.  She will be greatly missed by all. Diane is preceded in death by parents Robert and Jane Phillips of Rotan; and granddaughter, Ashley Dycus of Azle.  Diane is survived by her husband, Billy Dycus of Azle; son, Robert Dycus and wife, Joanne of Scott AFB, IL; daughters, Mollie and husband, Christopher Moore of Allen and Alice and husband, David McCleery of Mansfield;  sister, Maxine Odd and husband, Randy, of Richland, WA; and eight cherished grandchildren.
