Major Donald W. Autry, USAF, Ret., 86, has gone PCS (Permanent Change of Station) to his final assignment with God, Saturday, July 7, 2018. Memorial Service: 1 pm Friday at First United Methodist Church of Azle, 200 Church St., Azle, 76020.Interment: 10 am Friday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, 75211. Donald was born December 8, 1931 in Colorado City, TX to Claud and Ella Autry. He graduated from Boyd High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served honorably for 27 years, including a tour in Vietnam, retiring as Major in 1976. With honors, he earned his Associates Degree in Farm and Ranch Management at Weatherford College. He was a member of Briar VFD, a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Azle, and owned a Christmas tree farm. He enjoyed playing the guitar, gardening, woodworking, and metal crafts. But his main love in life was his family. He was a hardworking and beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Autry; and parents-in-law, Clifford and Marie Brister.
