Dorothy Evelyn Langston

Dorothy Evelyn Langston, 82, of Weatherford, passed away Monday, September 7, 2020. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Emmanuel Church, 2910 Bethel Road, Weatherford, 76087. Interment: Jaybird Cemetery, Reno. Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2020 in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, 76086. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emmanuel Student Ministry Camp Fund, www.emmanuelweatherford.com, your local humane society, or Parker County Animal Shelter. Dorothy was born at home in Parker County on August 21, 1938 to Floyd Dewey Cox and Gertrude Lee Samples. She grew up in Azle and graduated Salutatorian from Azle High School and later attended Brantley Draughon Business School focusing on office management and bookkeeping. Dorothy shared 40 years of loving marriage to Franklin Edward Langston who preceded her in death. She has joined her siblings, Hershall Cox, Marie Hubbard, John Cox, and beloved niece, Rose Williamson in God’s loving embrace. Dorothy was blessed to enjoy her work as a bookkeeper/payroll clerk for over 60 years with Whitten’s Pharmacy, American Manufacturing, and for Fort Worth Entrepreneurs, Lee and Carolyn Goodman. She was very active in her church where she served as treasurer for over 35 years, participated in bible studies and community group showing her love toward her Lord and Savior. Dorothy delighted in spending her time reading, watching movies, playing games, and tending to her backyard garden filled with her favorite concrete animals and flowers. Most of all she enjoyed time with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Doyle and husband, George; son, Bill Langston and wife, Becky; grandchildren, Michael Doyle, Lindsay Miller and husband, Michael, and Lance Thomas. Dorothy had great fun playing with her great-granddaughter, Madison Miller. She also cherished her sister, Jo Williams and husband, Johnny; as well as her nephew, Gary Hubbard and wife, Pam; niece, Lynne Brister-Cox; and her extended family and close friends.
